The legendary McCulloch 797,123cc/7.5 cubic inch beast from 1967-69. Predecessor to the CP 125 & Super Pro 125 of same displacement.
My new stick for the creamsicle. I think the Sugi's or Tsumura's / Total's make about any saw look good. Lot of good looking saws on this thread old and new.
I bought this084RW as a basket case back in July of this year. It was completely disassembled shy of a split case. The seller told me the p/c was scored, but the bearings were still tight and smooth. No idea about the ignition/heating system at the time. The seller had planned to build it and thus already had a NOS shroud, air filter cover, and tank housing. It also came with a new OEM piston. He included the old/original plastics as well, but the shroud had been either painted or clear-coated and was missing the metal tag. It also came with a NOS tank housing, but not the original one. The only step he had taken other than gathering parts was to media blast and paint the muffler which looks quite nice. The new plastics aren't matching tones of orange (which you can see in the last photo), so I bought a decent used HD filter base and a Max Flow filter & cover. The cylinder was un-salvageable, so I got my hands on a nice clean used one. The saw took a back burner to countless other builds & repairs for family/friends/acquaintances over the past six months, but finally got it's turn on the bench this week. First time assembling a heated handle saw which was interesting, but once complete it fired up after a few pulls. It's pictured here with the old/original plastics on it which I'll leave in place until I've had a chance to properly tune and test it and then it'll get the final makeover step with the new shroud and Max Flow. Or, who knows . . . maybe I'll just have the original plastics dipped and make it a truly unique machine!
I agree. Dolmar 7910 (modded, ported) with 24" Sugihara bar... also have a 32" Tsumura/Total bar for it.
The next step must be full wrap handle , big sprocket cover , big spikes, and double tube mufler . Agree ??
Lol, possibly in the future. Hopefully the first step will be ported, 70cc pull in a 60cc weight class. Good for a guy with a half bad back.
The GB's look pretty good too... Not that a Tree Monkey'd 880 needs any help in the awesomeness department.
