Same here. It was a large factor in my decision to buy it.

Cutting willows by the pond, PPT 2620. Cut, drag and treat the stumps. Not one stick of wood saved. 0924231248a.jpg

Cutting some cookies off a tree that fell in the pond. Cuts good with a 12" bar and muffler mod, all from the safety of the bank. IMG_9503.jpg

Terrible drought here this summer and the ponds are extremely low so we are doing some cleanup around the edges, too. Mostly willow, but a couple Locusts fell. Treated all the stumps. [IMG][IMG][IMG]

That’s about the only benefit of a drought is cleaning up around or cleaning out ponds & normally wet areas.

Hey what bar did you get for the 550xp? I wanted to get a Sugi but seemed like a couple choices and I wasn’t sure which one to get.

Definetly a worthwhile upgrade. Once you get a Sugi....you will never go back. For what I cut....and how I cut....they will last along long time. And I've had mine pinched..bent and bounced around. They just retract back into place. Amazing. Replaced the sprocket nose on the one on my 562xp last year. Never have done that to a bar..ever...cuz the rest of the bar is usually shot by then !!

20" inch on the 550xp is perfect for me. Gives a lil much needed extra reach....and the saw handles it just fine . Good luck.
