Sorry, I haven't been around much. Shaun told me about this place last night when I popped into the other place and responded to an old PM.

Yes sir, but it doesn't compare to a 10mm 044 I once had....

I was a dolly 5100 cheerleader for years...the tq it had over a OE 346 won me over. the 550 is a ripper, muffler mod and port widening is all I've done and it exceeds my needs and wants. the 550 and 372 both old and XT are my three go too's. The XT is actually more torquey for longer bars and my old 372 is no slouch.

Yeah no compare to a 044...

I have two ported 346s' that will smoke a 550xp, but stock with mm goes to the 550.

I have a ported 346 that will run with the best of them.. not my build tho.. borderline too much for a work saw.. that isn't the point tho.. I got involved with all that years ago... it was fun for awhile but man what a waste of time and money. AND drama... nothing wrong with a ported work saw. I also find it humorous that it seems now finger ports are a thing thats "new" lmfao...

nothing touches a 10mm 044. That even smoked my alky 084

I came close to getting too wrapped up in saw racing. Now I run ported work saws, or strong stockers.
I just cut firewood and do a little logging. Might race these saws once a year at a gtg, but nothing serous .
I really should get a 044 at some point, though I really have no need for a 70cc saw...

get a 72... especially with your arsenal of spring mounted husk's... I had 044's and 440's for a long time.. nothing beats a nice ported 372. A nice finger ported 372 with a 268xp piston.... it rips, even if it isn't the newest famdangled porters fastest block cutter, it still rips.

I'd take another 372 if the right deal showed up.
But the 562xp works as my big saw, at the moment anyway...

the 10mm 44 is a joke. its the baddest all time saw according to one member on another site. Its beat every saw out there, every time, in his own mind

    A fellow mustang lover?
Just remember, no saw is worth a chit without a dual port muffler and HD-2...

272xp I got for free. Somebody threw it in the dump! It needed a little work, but runs like a champ now. Sold it to a buddy... image.jpg

yah, gives us all a bad name. The kind that says my junk is the fastest and I know everything, everything else is crap.

And non of my saws can compete with the HD-1. Or the race technique we used with a gutted HD-1, made it an HD-0... (removed the felt, just the screen to catch chips)
