I think that will be my cold dead hands saw along with my Sausage ported 2511P and Sausage ported Makita dcs401.
my vintage addiction seems to be theses little poulans. They both need work but where so clean I had to bring them home.
I like those. Ive had a few in fact. They are snotty once tuned correctly which is a challenge because you have to remove the air filter cover to adjust it. I ended up, on the one I had the longest, cutting a slot to fit a rubber plug from a break drum backing plate adjustment slot. Pull the plug, adjust, reinstall. Works great.
Funny thing, I've seen them sell for $10-$15 in my local online auction when an orange Husqvarna branded identical saw went for over $60. Both in similar condition.
This is the only poulan I have left. Never could get it to run so I display it. Had an odd smell to the gas tank too.
With as many people as Ive seen wanting a 241 there is a demand for just that size saw it appears. Still sold in Europe I know for sure and the local dealer claims Canada as well. Husqvarna still sells the 543XP and it specs out nearly identical in terms of weight and listed power output. Someone must be buying them.
My dad had 2 chainsaws his entire life. He supplied fire wood for two houses with them for 20 years. Mainly this one saw. Stihl 031 AV. Once my brother turned 18 dad bought a used Homelite 360 for him to use. That was a ripper. My brother has the 031 and still cuts well for an old dog.
That looks mint. What’s the story behind it. I’ve got two like that. One was a yard saw for an older gentleman down sizing. The other belonged to another guys father, never been in wood.
Picture looks better than the saw does in real life. I got it off eBay, so I don't know the history.... seller said it's in great condition, but only time will tell for sure. I really didn't think I'd get it......... just thought it was going too cheap..... figured I'd bump the price up a little....... and...... now it's mine.
