1984 266se 192# comp never been apart No muff mod just a carb rebuild and fuel line Starts 2-3 pulls every time Great firewood saws. Cutting standing dead hazard tree's today I wanted a quiet saw to hear what the tree's were doing. The high winds Helped me the winds pushed it right in the pocket I had for it.
Nice saw, I wish mine started that good. Fixing to work on the starter directly, maybe that’ll help some. Really like the wrap handle on yours
just sold an 026 yesterday Full rebuild less the crank. I really liked it as a truck saw! Trying to stuff the bench jar for the 59X!
??? Not sure what that means? There was a real nice 026 and a Stihl leaf blower that sold for $180 for the pair on CL or FBM recently. It was up your way in NE Connecticut. Saw looked barely used.
not on FB Feel free to drop me a note if you see something The jar is my saw play money. Has 372xp written on it because I was saving for one there. The 59X is supposedly the next 90ccish class coming out of Husqvarna. That’s what the jar is for now. I usually end up pilfering it for milk money, etc.
Will do. I found my old 026 powerhead in September at my old warehouse at my cousins. I didnt know what happened to it. My 290 replaced it in 2010 so hasnt run in ten years. Last i knew it had compression but was rather beat up.
I use the fast idle when choking the 2 series My stumpshot ported 266 Is 210+ and a handful to pull I like the modern 372 pull handles The hl supply clone handle is just A couple of dollars And much more comfortable and a much better grip than the pregnant t handles of the 2 series.
Got two Huskies in for repair . The 359 was simple . Clean up , lube clutch bearing ,bar truing ,chain grind , limiters pulled ,carb set ,limiters reinstalled .nice saw , very little actual wear ,all things considered . The 268 sometime starts ,sometime doesn’t . When it runs it dies in the cut . Gonna demung it ,P&V it first .
The tree's are over a hillside So I'm working up the tops first I also brought out my ported 2165/71 with a 268 popup also
Finally got a chance to run my 181 se that I got a little while back. It had a bow on it when it came. Wearing a 28” and skip chain right now. Handled the green elm quite well! Both bucking and noodling. Plenty of power and loads of fun to run! Biggest saw I’ve ever ran. Was thinking I’d put a 32” bar on it but now not so sure. Didn’t seem like it wanted to oil the 28” as well as I thought it should, I’ll have to check into that
