Chainsaw Pics...

I don’t get why the use that tiny , thin line for the fuel feed ,and larger, thicker walled line for the purge lines . It either breaks at the filter , and you get what’s in your pic , or just as it enters the tank .

 

New dual port, handle and dogs on the 044.

 

Got these two in for some work . The 361 was running fast at idle . The 041 wouldn’t run ,except for fuel down the carb. Someone rebuilt the 361 carb and put the metering diaphragm in upside down ,and the impulse line was leaking . The 041 impulse line was to big for the carb barb, and leaking .

 

Last 2 K22 kits I got from Farmtec were placed witness holes opposite for the diaphragm plate orientation.

 

I‘Ve had reasonably good luck with AM carbs . But ,I always use OEM kits when I rebuild a carb for some reason . In fact , I just got An AM carb for that 361 in the pics above . Runs great now . But there’s about 1/8th of a turn on the high needle between running fat ,and hitting 14k ... pretty sure the needle seat was messed up when the carb was molested previously ...

I’ve had great luck with AM carbs. Surprisingly so.

 

Well , that 361/AM carb just left here with a happy owner . But the reason I use OEM kits , even on AM clones is that I feel the diaphragms ,are better material ,and I’m kind leery of AM springs ,circlips etc .. Maybe it’s a fools errand , but it’s worked for me

New to me barn clean out
No tag on the top. I’m leaning toward Stihl 75AV.
Except for a crack on the handle by the AV, that does concern me, the rest seems in pretty decent shape. Chain is rusted. Looks like original Stihl bar.
Going to clean the filter and rinse the tank, a new plug and see if it runs
If 75AV, it’s 111cc. About a quart pound per cc.

Sandhillbilly you know how we were discussing the availability of the older 2 series Huskys here in NZ? Well, I just couldn't help myself when this came up.....
This guy listed (on our local auction site) a 266se which looked great cosmetically but was missing the ignition system and he said it only had 135psi of compression. I took the punt and got it for about $120 (USD) as I already had a source for a good OEM ignition system (another $45 (USD)). The saw came this morning and it looks like it has had very minimal use from new, it looks like the original spur sprocket is hardly worn and with a few more pulls on the starter I got 190psi of compression!!!

Ok, finally I can add a couple of my own. I ask a neighbor if they wanted a dead pine tree taken down. The city already took the top off so it wouldn't hit the nearby powerlines. And of course my new MS311. Ok, so there is another tree about 20 feet away that she said she also wanted down as it is growinginto the same powerlines and always needs trimming back every year. What might this one be. and as I was taking these pictures, I looked down and I thought to myself, " is that what I think it is??" I might be in trouble for posting that

 

The leaves on the tree look like honey locust. The other thing looks like wildwood weed.
