Show us what’s under the hood I picked up 266se a few weeks ago and am looking forward to getting it on the bench
Dayum!!! That's one awesome looking chainsaw right there. The 288 w/ that top cover is a bucket list saw for me. Like an old American hot rod.
I have a 288 that's a beast. And can be a beast to start with the compression and no compression release. I think this 266 is going to be a runner. Need to work on the fuel system a bit and get the chain brake sorted out. I bought it to clean up and resell, but that may not happen!
My 3 work horses: A 141 (actually my wife bought it for herself long time ago as she hated my bigger saws). A 55 rancher: This thing is about 20 years old. She got badly wounded about 15 years ago swallowing the filter nut. Promptly gave her a new top end and a nutless filter. Have been running flawlessly ever since. 372Xp: Full Wrap / West coast dogs. She's a screaming, mean one. Pulls like a train, with a 28 inch bar / full-house chain. Running all 3 at 45:1 and Ethanol free 93. Lucky to have a gas station nearby that sells it on a separate pump.
Here is what is under the hood as promised. Does anybody know if the Eliminator kit came with it's own airhorn, or did it use the stock one?
Should be another piece that looks like a mini vstack. It bolts to the carb horn and the filter clamps to it.
There was a guy on OPE that 3d printed a few of them. He could probably make another one. His username was mortaltool or something like that.
Chainsaws Link to chainsaw section. The saw nuts hang there (not all of them actually burn wood. Crazy right?!?! ).
Here is a link to the homepage. Same site Jason gave you a link to. Where are you in NorCal? Outdoor Power Equipment Forum
I probably would have got one of those instead of the 562, but they weren’t available here yet. I really like the 562, & have picked up a used 372 since, so probably don’t need one now but still want one. I guess I’ll just add it to the list of saws I’d like to own someday
