This should arrive tomorrow or Monday....One of the cleanest I've ever seen, another in the legendary XL series this one produced 1968 only. 3.3 cube/54cc very strong for a mid sized saw.A few years newer than my blue XL-102.In my parts stash I already have at least 2 NOS bucking spikes still in the package that fit this & almost a dozen other models. 402EDBB6-102F-436A-B348-74BCA38CC0F6.jpeg I got this guy a year and half ago from a really nice guy down sizing. He was asking $125 but when I got there it wouldn’t start so dropped to $100. Fuel line was split.
Never been in the woods since I’ve had it. I don’t think it’s got 5 tanks through it. I think Sunday we’ll head out.

It was mine also. This one isn’t the Shelf Queen, but it’s close. I’ve got another that’s had fuel through it but has never made a cut.
    I’ve got a 353 I put a 346 OEM top end on that I like.
I’m thinking about getting this one ported

Looking at your signature list you own a bunch of the cool huskies. Are the 550s auto tune?

Now we're talkin! Love the old Pioneers! And "grandpa's saw", just can't beat that.

I picked up one of the rare IEL Pioneer RA's this past spring. Among the last of the saws produced while it was still IEL. It was supposed to be running but has an odd issue I haven't tracked down yet, mostly cause I haven't made time to work on it.

Also have a Pioneer 650 that was a seized barn find encrusted in white death. Took it completely apart and started a 100% restoration but got sidetracked again...:headbang:

Hey Thistle. Nice Find! That is a pretty rare saw and still in very nice shape too. Does the 103 have the dreaded fuel wick & glued together fuel tank like the 101 did?

I had one of these and sold it. I regretted that.
CL add last weekend listed this for parts and it doesn’t run @$125 which is about 26 more than I like to pay for a used saw but I called anyway. He texted me this week to say it had 50# compression. I told him I was still interested but for less than half his price.
Got it this morning, looked under the muffler and looked great. Did my compression test, just short of 160#s. The spark plug wasn’t too tight.
Only had to adjust the idle and she’s a runner.
Missing spark arrestor, brake band, chain tensioner and the pull cord broke. That’s my bar and chain. It came with a good chain but worn bar.
I’ll go through it. Probably replace anti vibe too.
