Guy bought it to mill, got it started, shut it off and couldn’t start again.
Said the shop told him the seals are gone and couldn’t be replaced. In essence he was selling the new bar and chain and I could have the saw too if I wanted it. Haven’t poked at all. It does feel like a lot of compression.

Did it. Had to cook the kids steak first.
It’s not pretty. I’ve seen way worse.
And smell bad gas and see an ultra shiny exhaust.

Yeah, but it’ll be ok someday.
    Still hold decent compression.
Cool to see a metal intake!

67E5CB48-D062-4784-BCAB-0E2562F2F25C.jpeg Got this one on the bench. Cylinder looks toasty and has 120psi.
Pressure and vac are tight. Hoping bad gas failure and cylinder can be cleaned.

Piston looks serviceable. No good new oem options. Pull the jug.

On the list to do. Can’t build any pressure right now on pressure test. Not seeing any leaks on clutch side seal. Waiting on ups and a flywheel puller to check that side and deal with the seals. I think I can use 288xp seals on this engine.

Not all the way around but heading that way. I’m going with bad or strait gas.
    What do you mean detonation?
What’s different to me is that bronze colored coating of fuel mix on the crank. Wipes right off.
Cylinder looks worse than it feels. I’ll see how it cleans up.

Stihl saws are a rubic’s cube to work on.

Broke a chip off this barrier.
    Don’t ask how.
Is this a death blow for this saw?
