if and when you rebuild it, will you make it like factory fresh or make a ported saw/muffler mod etc?

I decided to go into this 026. 70 psi but otherwise a pretty clean saw.
    P/C toasted.
One of the first thing I found was that the intake clamp was backed off/loose. I’m hanging my hat on that one.
    All the rubber is good.
Waiting on the Meteor delivery man now.
This pic shows that for this carb the H and L only have one adjustment, but the case allows for a fully adjustable. Carb on it is a WT430B

Picked up a Husqvarna 268 at an online auction a week or two ago. Looked rough, and I couldn't pull the handle before buying. I took a chance and it seems to be good. Needed a few things and lots of cleaning up. Here are a few before and after pics. It seems a bit touchy when adjusting the carb, so I may throw a kit in it, but for now, I'm going to run it awhile and make that decision later.

It was the best one I had in the woods!
I actually did enjoy it. Went back out this afternoon on some 15” maple and it was impressive.

    I bet.

    This one is pretty tight.

I did give it a little breathing room.

Ran a couple yesterday with one of my daughters along for the ride. Gave the cs-500vl a full workout. Pulled like a champ. Even got to hang out with the bighorns for a while.

    Just ripe for the picking.

    Smelling fine.

I run into these fine creatures regularly. A couple of nice big herds on the way up to where I cut.
