Mine responded very well to a base gasket delete and a muffin mod. Timing bump is easy on them too as it has a flywheel key that can be filed down.

If you measure squish with gasket, it’s pretty wide on these saws, about .050. After delete, mine was .030-.035. And after porting, I filed off 1/3 of the key as recommended by Shaun.

Wish I measured squish before I pulled it apart.
I thought about it all day and decided to build it back stock for now.
Tank is all rebuilt. I found this hole in the locator pit and sealed it.
Mostly a carb rebuild left and assemble.
Saw came with a two bars including a brand new 36 Husky OEM.
Hoping to make some cuts on Monday!

Got an old Farmsaw running today. Been sitting for a long, long while.

    Convincing wood punishers.

And I bought these two today. 330 needs a fuel cap if anyone has one they would like to let go, or know where to look for one.

Just searched ebay and for some reason this one didn't come up. Thank for sending it. I bought it. Now at least I can do some testing on it. I think I will need to pull the carb and clean it up according to the guy I bout it from. Been sitting with old gas in it for about 6 months.

What does the AWOL mean? Is that someone who did some work on it? Planning to get the same bar for mine too.

The VI 2 is all metal, the 192 all plastic case. Plan on trying to get em running some time, maybe this winter. Didn’t notice it till I had been looking at them for a little while, but no chain brake on either one. When did saw makers start putting them on. I assume it became a requirement by some government agency. Got another older small homelite at the shop, and the more I think about it, no brake on it either

i had a little Homelite circa early 1980's and it had no brake. My Stihl 028 from 1985 did have the brake.

i agree. The little Homelite i used was bought by my mother for my older brother to use. Once i was old enough i got to use it. Not sure when she bought it. It had a safety tip attached to the bar for anti kickback. I took it off. My late uncle gave me the 028 in 1985 when i was 17.
