Thank you, kinda what I figured. Did one on my lil old 345 this winter, can’t recollect for sure but think it was around 115. Is that good. It runs great for all its done
Probably about right for a 345. Might be a hair low. Most saws are in the 150 to 170 range. A few are close to 200
Compression that low on a runner is likely a bad gauge. Not all are created equal, especially on the higher compression readings expected on saws and other 2 strokes.
Bought this Electr-o saw at an auction today for $3.00 it runs, has an Oregon bar that says saturate with oil every 15 minutes. Chain is in pretty sad shape. Almost looks like it was being used to quarter a beef or something. Teeth are all plugged up with something & it ain’t sawdust. Didn’t measure it but probably 10”-12” bar
What steel are you using to make that? I'm just curious. I know some of the stuff I rustle up would work OK because it's really hard and tough and other stuff I have laying around would just bend up an not keep an edge. I don't know much about the science behind it, but I've always been amazed at the variety of steel strengths that are available. I hope it works out well for you, that looks like an interesting way of clearing an area out in a hurry, right down to the ground.
