This thing is hilarious to just look at. I have never had a bar and chain this big should be interesting.
Heck, Mr Overkill himself might not even have a bar that big! That looks like one of them Giant Redwood slayers now...what is that, like 200 link chain?
When I first looked at this I saw the orange thing at the back of the saw and thought it was a cord...I thought that electric saw looks just like a gas saw...then I noticed the recoil handle and the gas jug...so its not an electric saw, what is the orange thing? Looks like a Stihl but says Ryobi on it...hmmm...
The orange thing is a pulpwood cutters trick , called a pulpwood whip up here . Cutter's Choice Online - MEASURE ROD You attach it to the handle via bolts or zip ties and set the total length from the tip of the bar to the tip of the tale so you get 4'. When pulp was sold at 4' it was just one quick measure then cut . I use it for 8' so 2 quick measures and then cut . Pawn shops pay little monies for the Ryobi's ... Lol
From my contact in Nor Cal,this should arrive in about a week - 67 inch tip to tail 2 man hardnose bar with massive very rare 3/4 pitch chain.Came off a model 99 which I already have. Someone long ago plugged that nose area where the stinger went - I'd hate to see the guy who run this monster by himself, probably 6 foot 8 & 400 pounds
Yea, I want to see the ole boy that ran a Mac 99 by himself. Be interesting to know why they plugged it, what is the gauge on 3/4 Mac chain? Just wonder if maybe they later bought a one man Mac and ran 1/2" on that bar on a 890 or something.
Massive chain arrived yesterday afternoon with a couple other things - decent more complete Mac transmission - my saw only has the rare right angle drive earth auger attachment,my other 99 tranny had some minor damage & a couple small parts missing,so yesterday after work in the 100 degree heat I put together a good one from the 2 Plus this Oregon Chain Breaker & Rivet Spinner combo for large chain.Dont plan on using them any time soon,if at all,but makes a cool conversation piece I thought . A large Mac chain filing jig/guide mounted on a old piece of timber is on the way also,it was cheap, looks good but not sure if its all complete though.
