I like the look of those saws anyway, but the bar and the spikes bring it to a whole different level, then put it to some wood and it all comes together. I also like the workbench, very nice. The link says it's compatible with the wrap model, is that the same ones you ordered. I have that guy in my favorites for bars, one day I'll get one. He also has the 24" small husky mount for you guys with a bad 262 or a 2260 .
The other day I was getting a little stir crazy at home and decided to go to a dealer that I had bought some "junk" saws from in the past. Found this partially disassembled and missing clutch cover. Had a tag with "low compression" written on it. I gave the dealer his $60 he wanted for it and brought it home cause I knew I had a 390 top end on the shelf. Got it home, pulled the rope and heard a nice air leak. The decomp valve was about one thread from falling out. Took decomp out and cleaned it up good, put it back in. Fresh gas and she fired on 3rd pull. Blowing 168 on my gage, finished tearing her all apart and cleaning her up this morning, put back together and ready to roll. It also had the front screw for the top cover stripped out, so put a helicoil in it, waiting overnight for loc-tite to cure. I figure she's nice enough to put a new recoil decal on as well, so I ordered one of those.
The only bummer about them is on certain saws the shortening effect they have on the bar ends up throwing the length off a bit. I wish there was a 22" for the 562, but then again I run a 20 on my 044 most the time and a 24 or 28 on the 461's 36 id the 660's job. If I decide to fire up the 562 I have I'd like to get a little more out of it than 20-the big dawgs is all.
Don't mind the loose chain and broken clutch cover they are old spares and thanks to hdtoolmkr765 I have a nice replacement cover and brake assembly on the way.
Sweet, me like . Just cut the cover a little higher in the back, that will make the chip look smaller, and I bet it will clear some serious chips .
chipper1 I am building a 288 saw to play with and that's what I plan to do with the cover and use it on that saw.
Is that what they really do . Sounds like a beast. When I was at Randy's gtg I heard something fire up and start cutting (remember this is with a bunch of saws already running, and most every one ported) and I had to go see what it was as there was no mistaking this was a bad saw, ended up it was a 288 randy had done .
I do appreciate it they are both work horses. Thank you for the links will probably make an order in the next few days. This 24" husky bar seems really heavy for its size. Wouldn't mind getting one a little more balanced. Some decent spikes would really help too -Rick T2 Tappin'
Picked these up yesterday, only one 362 runs, but barely. Not sure about compression yet. It'll give my boys and I something to do while we wait on the cylinder for the Arctic Cat ZR440 to come back from being repaired. Hoping to get at least one of each running.
