I'll be at the falls this month . This one has a full wrap with heat, never been fueled. GG GG GG where are you lol.
I'm the same way. You know to think about it , i think my 372xp holds oil? I am pretty sure I can put it away and in a month come back t what oil was left in tank when I put it away. I'm probably just thinking all the oil that runs out of it since they oil so well? But the 445 and 555 I have oil really well while off sitting . And it's not an age or wear thing. I bet the 555 has 2 hours on it and the 372 was got as one of 2 parts saws from loggers and I made it. It have many hours of use and abuse on it.
Nope, it's very strange, it's only certain models, my 42, 242, 257, 272s, 288s, 372s, 385s, 390, 394s, 395s, and 3120, none of those puke bar oil.
Huskys can certainly leak, but I stihl like them a lot. I'm pretty non partial though as you two are, that's what was so funny about you making fun of the huskys to me is the fact that you have them and run them . I have a tendency to do that to folks who talk as though one brand is the best "period", no matter what that brand is, I like to stir the pot . I've found the same to be true. One thing I try to do is as soon as I'm done cutting I lay them on their side with the oil cap off to let any heat/pressure out, it seems to help, but I still get puddles. The good thing is the 346's don't stand up well anyway. One of my favorite little huskys doesn't leak at all, the 450 rancher. I try to keep at least one 450 around all the time as they are an excellent little saw. My 2145 which is a 345 in a red wrapper drools all over the back of the truck. I have a good time with some of the little plastic saws .
I only have 2 saws and can say that my Husky 555 is bone dry no matter how long it sits but the Stihl 026 will empty its oil tank fairly quickly while it is on the shelf.
I'd be tearing the 026 apart, I've probably owned and ran 40 different 026s, I've never had one do that. My 550 doesn't do it either, but my 562 does.
Two piece oil hose is/was the cause of my 3 series husky oil leaks. I sealed them with black permatex and reassembled them. Dry for the time being...(surfaces must be Ultra clean for proper sealing)
The whole leaking bar oil issue is interesting...... U have a Husqvarna 36, 555, 371XP, Jonsered 2152 and Dolmar 5105. None of them leak while sitting on the shelf. I keep them in my garage and the temp stays pretty constant, maybe that helps. Sent from my Z832 using Tapatalk
Doesn't matter here. In the summer it's hot as he11 all the time here. Run it and cut it off and it will leak, no moving from hot to ice cold room or anything.
I still hang out there a lot, and other places, but I can see it's a good crowd in here and folks are cordial. I like that a lot .
You're killing me. I'm saving up for a 4-wheeler. Tough enough to convince the wife that i need another saw too.
Here is a Pic of my Twin Husqvarna 44 s . One is a 1981 version and the other is a 1985 version. They are old but run and cut really well for their size. I bought the 1981 version in 1986 from a old man that owned a local saw shop and had rebuilt it as some one had leaned it out too much. I was young and he was giving me some advice, said you get this Husqvarna saw and take care of it and it will last a life time. Well I am still using it. Been cutting 12 to 20 rick a year every since I got it. I just got the 1985 version last year and have been fixing it up.
