    Welcome Satchmo1960
I can not speak for Echo. I am more of a Husky man, but I do have a Stihl MS 250 and really like it. The only reason that I am not in the Stihl court is my dad bought a new Stihl back in the early '70s and after 3 years of light use it was a POS. Several dealers couldn't get it running.
I don't know what part of Ohio you are located in, but there is a GTG (get-to-gather) in central MI next weekend. About 4 hour drive from Columbus. It would give you the opportunity to get some trigger time on various brands and models.
We just may be able to get you an invite. Say something if you are interested and we can see what we can do.

With rounds that size I would look to a great 60cc saw at the smallest, but would think a 70cc class would serve you better. Like a husqvarna 365, 372, stihl 461, Dolmar 7900, best of luck and if you can cut with each saw before you buy.

    Welcome aboard Satchmo1960 :handshake:

Any of the suggestions above will keep you happy without a doubt....but one thing that’ll make you rethink any saw purchase a few days into cutting would be a dulled chain......learn the sharpening basics, and you’ll never regret heating with wood!

    Welcome to the site
    I have both the 261 7 year's and 590 6 year's
Never had any issue with either one.
I do my own saw work anyway.
Just routine maintenance is the life of any saw.
I like both but always ran the 590 more
    With 3/8 chisel 20 and 24 inch bar's.
    I bought a 490 3 year's ago no trouble at all with it a good 50cc saw i run a 18 .325 full chisel on it.
The echos were 300.00 shipped from ebay
    With the 5 year warranty.
My friend didn't clean his bar on his 590 and the oil hole clogged
    Tearing up his oiler
Echo fixed it under warranty no charge.
Try a few different saw's if you can.
