Maybe 6-12 ??? I guess something like a spare chain , or two for each saw . I generally get all my firewood from the local farmers . They’ll call and tell me that there’s one down in their fields . I can never get a good size description out of them . It’s either Big ,or not real big … so, I can go cutting with up to four saws . And, always carry two spare chains for each saw in ziplock bags . I’d snatch one of those things up if it was made for 16 , 20 ,24, 28” chains .
Bout 5 for each bar length. 16,18,20,24,28 but I only have 3 42’s. When I come home from cutting, chains get swapped out w/ fresh and the dull one gets hung on the grinder stand.
Whew, thanks fellas, I feel much better knowing I'm not alone hoarding chains. I wish I had the wall space to hang mine like that. I keep them in the boxes in a 5 drawer blue print cabinet. It's good to see that my chain arsenal is simply about average and 4-5 saws on a cutting excursion is "normal". I feel much better now.
I have always wished the company's that make chain would market them in a plastic box instead of cardboard.
The Chinese copies have arrived. At full price now, but give it a few weeks and the price will drop. I feel sorry for the US inventor/manufacturer.
