Try cutting dead black locust. Depending on your mpg you could easily be finding yourself sharpening every tankful.
Thanks everyone for advice. I cut a load today and then sharpened the chain when I got home - just 2 passes with the file on each tooth. My goal is to keep that chain really sharp. I carry a couple of spare ones in case I hit the ground or a rock - it's been known to happen - Had to adjust the idle screw but other than that everything went perfect today even though it was pretty muggy. Not the best wood cutting weather but I have time now and you gotta make hay (or cut wood) while the sun shines!
When I'm using the 562 with 18 bar it's every tank the 576 with a 28 bar that's less frequent takes a long time those extra teeth. The stihl has a diff size chain so I don't have a quick touch up tool for it yet so I do it once I can't bog it down pushing hard on the saw. Get one of those stihl files automatically sharpens and cuts rakers at same time. easiest and quickest I've found
