That's a sweet piece Larry! If you ever get to Basspro or Cabelas, they sell Lodge and another brand, "I forget the name"... But They put stuff on sale occasionally.
First layer of seasoning is on my little Chinese griddle after a second scrub. It's got a pretty good wobble, so it'll be for campfire and serving use I think. It's also going to be my grill buddy. I'm too concerned about using a good cast iron pan on the grill, but this one's already warped so no worries.
Found this at Costco today Same griddle you can get elsewhere, but packaged with scrapers and egg rings for a Costco exclusive. My daughter and I stood there and thought about it pretty hard. I think the LDP3 griddle might have more actual cooking surface, even though it’s smaller overall. Got it anyway.
I'm not a cast iron scholar. The oldest lady in the county (103) passed away a few months back and her kids are selling things. I stopped by and they said nobody wants these cast iron pans, just take them and use them for dog dishes if nothing else. Is there any value in these? Can you identify the ugly duckling?
Ugly duckling? They’re all beautiful. The top one is an unmarked Wagner, if that’s the one your asking about. I’d say the little one is worth about five bucks. I’d give $10-15 for the bigger ones, depending on what the rest of the pan looks like.
All good stuff! Nice score! The "made in the usa" pan is from the 60's so it's not particularly valuable, but there all keepers.
I hope people realize the value of my stuff (junk) when I'm dead. Took me long enough to gather it all.
In reality Greenstick you have about $100.00 worth of pans there! If that one Griswold is italicized... The # 3 you have is a sweet little pan. First pic is a post 1960's Wagner.
My first e-tank effort. It wasn’t actually that bad, because my buddy had already attacked it with an angle grinder and wire brush He also brought me a #10 that he hasn’t touched. That’s a this weekend project.
Went to mail letter this morning, saw a garage sale on way home, mostly kids toys and junk "BUT".... a #10, 4qt old dutch oven. It's made in the USA and has no identification markings on the bottom. It is marked also in liters, 3.785 so what I'm thinking here is, this is a post 1960-1970's Lodge dutch oven, and the raised/thick bottom kinda gives me that thought. Handles are identical for some of the ones I've seen, sadly no lid. The young lady said her Mother only cooked/deep fried French Fries in it because she liked the nice flat bottom. She said it's been sitting for years now so in the garage sale it went. I couldn't pass for $3.00, "like I needed another one"...
