Came across a very nice #10 Griswold round griddle yesterday at an antique store marked at $130 lol...I offered $80 and they wouldn't go lower than $95. Even $80 was pretty much pushing it in my opinion, but I woulda gone for it.

you guys have fired up the thread again. I'll tell you, it has been an education for me. I had no idea there were other ways to clean up an old pan. I have three fry pans and a few other pieces. Some ceramic coated stuff also. For me, it is all about having pans to use. Love pans that have a history. Some non stick coated pans are now being suspect for certain serious illnesses. Problem with cast for some folks is you can't put it in the dishwasher. Cleaning means wipe it out only. And a lot to do because it is so heavy. I no longer have a glass top stove. I have gas, and the burners are under one level surface so I can pull them around without them tipping. To me, that is idea for cast. The next thing to have is good lighting while you are cooking. Enjoy the experience.

“Borrowed” these pans from my parents who have not used them in years (decades?). They look pretty good, but I will probably give them a good cleaning and add a layer of fresh baked on seasoning. Wonder what I should make this week...

I wish I knew you were in the hunt for one. This past fall, I seen one in an antique store for $24.00. It was a #8 or 9. If I get out that way i'll see if it's still there, I may be able to haggle a bit... ;)

All I really want to do is have a small collection of pans that I will use. #3, #6, #8 and #10 or 12 skillets (missing these) and maybe a couple little specialty pieces thrown in for good measure. I'm a bit envious of some of you with 200+ pieces but I just don't have the space.

I'm trying to hold out on buying stuff until garage sale season, flea market season and my Mother in law unboxing her pans which were her grandmother's...which she currently can't find in her basement.

No need for that, it's just another hobby... :) I'll put mine on display again this year and we've been in the process of remodeling the kitchen, when it's done I'll have about 100 or so around the room. I only use on a daily basis is about 4 pans and my griddle. That get's used every other day in the winter, pancakes and french toast all winter long!

Thanks, but just helping out a fellow FHC member!:)... I'm headed out in that direction today so if I come across one "reasonably" I'll grab it and send it off to you. The big blue book has the Wagners and Griswolds all valued about $25.00 to $40.00 depending on the sizes. I usually can get them to drop 10% or 20% off ;)

Only hit one store yesterday, no such luck. Came home, wife was felling a bit under the weather. More to come around here, It's kind of a touristy area here and many junk shops.

My gal was in Saskatoon on family related business, and managed to hit up a few value Value Village and 2nd hand places. Success!

I'll grab photos shortly, but appears (best I can tell from google) to be a BSR No. 5 8 1/8 inch pan, Century series, 1960's vintage, in very good shape. For $10.
