yeah, there must be some BIG lag screws or some sort of support not visible in the pictures, because that's a lot of cast iron.
The brackets are held to the wall with 3 inch cabinet screws, 2 per bracket, for 6 total. The screws go into wall studs. I have done a chin up on the loaded shelf. The screws are rated for 75# each. The shelf should hold 450#. The brackets are made from angle iron. 1.5x1.5 I think. notched and bent to shape. The rod is black iron pipe with threaded endcaps. The caps help capture some iron rod I bent up. Also checked. One of my #3 skillets does have the Wagner Ware triangle mentioned earlier in the thread.
Gotta love black iron pipe. Nice sturdy setup. I built a wood rack out of black pipe that sits adjacent to my stove. Great stuff.
I used black pipe in my diy walk-in cooler. It works very well with my homemade meat hooks. I had to weld the eyes closed because they would bend open under load.
Good old smash burgers. Jalapeños under the cheese on mine. I also do the thinly sliced onions (Oklahoma style) on the flip side.
I never cared for raw onions before I had Covid and my sense of taste changed, now I love and crave the thin ones!
Grandgorman, Seriously??????????? You are now personally responsible for putting the 20 lbs I just lost, BACK ON!!!!! That post is VERY irresponsible!!!
Ha sorry. If it makes a difference the patties are pretty thin. But if you eat too many, you won’t be!
*READ* Carefully; With great debate, pain in my guts, and my not so willing to part with things, I am putting this out for those of you on FHC who LOVE Their cast Iron. Here goes! My Wife and I have been thinning house, throwing $#!T away and Hoping that we can get to New Hampshire this coming year. I've been on the phone with my bank up there to reestablish my Construction loan we had before Covid and President change hit us all hard financially! (NO, NOT GOING Political here, just a fact that happened). Anyway, I'm going to sort out about 12 to 18 pans and a couple pots I have, put them aside to keep for us and sell the rest of what I have! I'm sitting on about 250, maybe more cast pans! I don't want to move that many pans when we move North! I have not put them on Craigslist, I have not advertised them anywhere, You all are the first to hear of this. I am not in it to A$$ rape anyone with a price, I will give out a fair price and try to get a shipping price included. Of course it all depends on weight. I have some very nice pieces, Wagner, Griswold, BSR, just to name a few. Some need to be cleaned, (Just surface rust) some are nice I had packed in light Vegetable oil and some are rough (But cleanable) I will post the pics here, in this thread of everything I have once they are sorted. If any of you want something special or want first crack at something, PM me. Leave me your name and phone number. If any of you in New Hampshire want some, I should be coming up after the 1st of the year and you can pick them up from me directly. After spring, I'm gonna advertise them. I have a friend who works in an antique shop I can dump them off on him for consignment. Before anyone asks, I have a RARE #14 Griswold that is NOT for sale! It may show up in some pics. There it is! I'll keep you all posted, look at this thread in the next couple days for pics! Dave
