cast iron drain pipe fix...

    Cutting the cast out is best BUT make sure the stack above the cut is supported! Or it can drop.

    I think the pipe coming out of the ceiling in the basement is supported by the sill plate. but that is a good point, to secure it just in case it does want to move.
    it goes up from the basement to the 2nd floor, hangs a right (all in wall) then a left to an interior wall. It's somewhat supported up top, and I suspect where the end comes out down below at 45, might hold it some.

    'course if it falls down,I'll just have to do the whole repair all the way up.

    I just picked up insulation for one of the ceilings down there, a little over 500 sq ft. So I have a couple indoor projects to get into next month or so.

    Probably not doing this project. Selling house as is, unless it's critical, I'm not planning on finishing this project. Will update if that happens.
