I've found that FHC is a great place to use as a sounding board.

 

I'm commuting 103 miles (1hr 35mins) right now. I leave at 515 to be there around 7am. (90miles of it is interstate at 70-80mph)
I don't really work (just watching our subcontractor). it pays good, i have a company vehicle so it doesn't cost me anything... and i hate it. Lol

I'm ready to go back to the job i was on, 2hrs 15mins away and staying away 3 nights a week. And actully working.

 

Thanks to the Covid lockdown, and the loss of two of my biggest accounts, I ended up making a move from a home based salesman to taking over the Service Manager position. It is 46 miles each way if I go straight south through Boston, or 61 if I go around, which saves 10-15 minutes sometimes. I almost always go through the city because I dont want to add another 8K miles per year to my already high mileage. Now that traffic is back to normal, it takes me 3-4 hours round trip on average. I HATE it, 80% of the time I dont want to even be there before I make it to the office. I try to only get into the office 3 days a week if possible now, and I really would like to look for a new job, but my wife and I have been kicking azz with our business, so if things pick up next spring where they left off, I might just be able to leave.

 

Back before the scamdemic I’d work in Massachusetts Vermont and New York fairly regularly. I don’t miss going to mass, do miss a couple dealers though. Always liked going to upstate NY. I would do from I90 north as far west as Utica. Never Albany area. I miss that and I miss being away a few days a couple times a month. Can’t complain, I’m actually making more money not doing that but I do miss it.

Absolutely. I just wish that insurance wasnt so damm expensive. That is my #1 expense holding me back from making the jump.
