Question for you mechanical geniuses? Thinking about making a can crusher. I have a 2 3/4" hydraulic cylinder. Can I use a hydraulic cylinder on air without any changes?
I would run compressor at 90 PSI. I calculate that I would be excreting 388 PSI on the can. Enough to crush it?

90 psi is insane, I build halloween props and rarely use more than 20 psi.

388PSI is roughly 2 guys standing on the can, no ?

You'll need to lubricate it like you would a nail gun

    what is the saying?

it is all fun until somebody gets hurt.

90psi at 2.75 dia. is entering bomb territory.

Years and years ago i worked at a scrap yard, i was a non ferrous buyer, we had a industrial can crusher, huge, had the same thing in side of it. 2 tires that spun into eachother.
