    Re-calibrating an m-tronic is unnecessary if the saw starts and runs properly otherwise. It will tune itself every time you put it to wood, not just when you re-cal it. If I run mine in drastically different conditions then I can actually hear/feel it re-tune.

    I do warm restarts in the "run" position. It's also normal for it to take several pulls to get it going for that first out of the box. Just set it in "start" and keep pulling.

    Well, Randy did mine..

    But since he is ever evolving, he now uses a dual port on the opposite side of the existing port.

    But this is what he did to mine. Sounded great and ran great.

    The 441 is a monster...it keeps getting stronger and stronger with each tank:)..you will love it..imo it is the ultimate firewood saw..the rpms are crazy..if you think it rips now..wait till you get a few gallons of fuel thru her:saw:....i usually run the 20"..but it pulls the 28 juuuuusss fine:D...enjoy your new saw:dancer:

    That's a beauty! I want one of those someday. What saw were you using prior ?

    There is a TON of that crap going on on ebay, pizzes me off. You can't buy anything on there anymore, you just never know what your getting into. Often, if they are using a stolem pic, that means there is no merchandise...... it's a rip off. Make sure you ask, "Is the pic the actual item"?

    I mostly cut with my 290 before. It had never let me down, and was probably the fastest 290 in town. When the opportunity to send her up the river for $400 came up I just had to do it. Talk about holding its value.

    When I get a chance to actually cut something I will definitely report back, but I bought the saw on opening day of gun season so my chances to get into the woods to run her are non-existent. I have a big dead ash lined up to drop next weekend that's not in the woods.

    I'm always amazed by how well 290s hold their value on Craigslist. You did good moving up to the 441 :thumbs: :saw:

    The few extra holes in in my muffler courtesy of cnice_37 makes it scream:saw:
    You will be very happy with the purchase. I'm astounded at how fast it is in big oak - rips is an understatement
