Yes, the smaller machines are much more nimble and can get through tight woods much easier than the big full sized machines. Some machines are so well made that even abused, like my pre owned 92 Kawasaki bayou 300 4x4 that even though it's a bit rough, it will do anything you ask of it, and probably more than it was ever intended to do. I own a newer Polaris sportsman 500 ho, and this older kawi it's so simple it's stupid. It also just works. It's only 300 lbs ( iirc) and unlike my sportsman you can lift it out of spots. I once got the sportsman stuck in the peat bog before I got the free warn winch installed that came with the quad( but not free install). I darn near died after getting high centered on a stump and all 4 tires clawed at loose peat. I had to use longer "stick" logs to lever it up and throw more logs/ sticks under the wheels to tun high center it. The sportsman is, 800 lbs, vs the 300 the bayou weighs.
LOL. I got ours stuck up to crankcase in sticky muck one time so bad that we couldn't pull it out with another quad. It was like suctioned in. Had to use a car jack and some planks. Had mud head to toe. No more driving in and out of the lake with the plow on after that.
