Hit -15 here, so I have been heaping the pine and white birch too the stove. Kidding. Hickory, beech, maple and ironwood up to 10 inches in diameter.

Back inside from the freezer, or at least it felt like I was working in the freezer. Half a truck load of poplar and my creek clearing project is done. Ended up dropping 7 trees and piling up a lot of brush. Gonna stay in and feed the fire now.

Burning the good stuff here too. Pretty much what it was CSS for, and why it has been CSS for 4 years.

Teens at night which is cold for here. Sweet gum overnight so I've got a good bed of coals for the morning relight. Pine to burn down the coals in the morning. Pine and sweet gum by day.

I've got oak in the stacks but that is mostly for the pizza oven. I can stay plenty warm burning pretty much any dry wood inside.
