I've never seen an oriole in my neck of the woods but what I though was my "rare" red-winged blackbird that showed up in the dead of winter I saw a few dozen times this spring after they nested down the bottom of my driveway this year.
Those two were teaching their youngens to fly into the road and feed off bugs killed by cars.

Pretty good variety of birds around here. Several pileated woodpeckers ( they're HUGE, btw). Called in an owl while coyote hunting last winter. He was quite impressed with my "rabbit in distress" call.

If you see them at all, they may be more common than you think. Ours spend most of their time high up in the trees. Once you know what their voice sounds like, you can always tell when they're around. When they vacate the nest, we usually don't see or hear them again. If you have cherry or berry trees, you'll see them getting food for their young in early June.

Redwings often nest in hayfields. When there are a lot of them, they can become annoying. We always see cowbirds with redwings, I guess it's easy for the cowbirds to lay their eggs in the redwings' nests.

They aren't the highest quality but a couple snaps of the prairie falcons that nested and raised a little one behind our camper this summer. 20170817_193410.jpg
