I picked up 3 100' rolls of Husky X-Cut when it first came out from HL Supply (OPE). $300 per roll. They run sales but haven't seen it that low for quite some time. Lots of good options listed above.
A few years ago I did a cost analysis on bulk chain vs premade loops. I only compared 20” 72dl 3/8 chain vs 100’ reels and Stihl had the most savings by buying in bulk and Oregon was close enough to just buy the loops. So depending on what you buy, it might be easier to buy loops. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I bought a 100’ roll of 3/8 and a 100 ft roll of .325 of the Holzfforma chain from farmertec. I know, Chinese company, but the chain is actually made in Germany and seems as good as any of the big name brands for less than half the price. Was less than $300 delivered to my door. Fairly easy to sharpen and holds a good edge. I’m going to order another roll of 3/8 and a roll of 3/8 pico. Should keep me in chain for the rest of my hoarding years.
No way to know if it is actually made in Germany, but for the price and quality I’ll take it. Sick of the price gouging from the name brand manufacturers.
Not so sure about made in Germany. The package I looked at on line said German chain or German technology on it but I didn't see a place of manufacture
You still have to give credit when credit is due. It's pretty impressive chain for being made by 8 year old kids....
