I have 4'-4" of .280 wall pipe for the smokebox and a 19" piece for the firebox. I worked on it for 4.5 hrs Fri and got the 4 end caps cut out of 1/4 plate (with a Plasma cutter thank goodness), 3 end caps welded on, firebox and smokebox saddled out and welded together, and the legs welded on it. Now its time for the more tedious stuff, probably take another 4.5 hrs to build the hinges for both doors, door stop for SB, latch and damper for the FB door, heat baffle above FB, flat strap around both doors to seal them, grates, shelf and twin smoke stacks. And then theres paint. Only one before pic so far. Ill post more later.
Looking forward to seeing more pics. I will be building one out of an old fuel barrel this spring, going to put the welder I got from Pete to work on it.
Dang it.....I meant to take some pics tonight. I got about 18 hrs into it (had the flu, slow go), coming along fine, prob 3 hrs left. It ain't going to win a pageant, but I think it will cook as well as any. Pics coming......
That's looking good, like it. Is that a blower hooked up in the one picture. Hard to see on my phone it's a little dark.
O yeah, that's looking great! Awesome job We're you trying to make a forge out of it with the leaf blower or just burn it out good, lol
Yep, blower forge fire. Firebox and smokebox filled with wood. That's what I call a break in fire, if that doesn't break it, all is well. All was well.
