It shouldn't be that hard to download the smiley/emoticon images that FHC wants to use, upload them to the FHC website, and redirect the smiley links here to our own copies, right?
If you right click on all the smileys and click "View image" it takes you to the hosting site of the image. All the ones that are not working, as SmokeyTheBear pointed out, are hosted on one site, http://emoticoner.com, that has prevented other sites from linking to their images.
Please provide operable redirect code for external web site. Scott knows how to proceed, he has other things to get out of the way first, give him some time. There is no easy way to have an operable external site link redirected the request for all links on a page occurs from the users' browser. The links that are embedded in many forum posts need to be changed (possible output filter after having equivalent icons hosted on the site), but not standard redirects . Scott needs time.
That would not be a normal hosting service shutdown method. I might look up my web data scope information and take a look see. But what is occurring could be a screw-up by the site maintainers. Heaven only knows how easy it is to make a mess of a site.
So long as the forum software keeps chugging along, I can deal without the smilies for awhile. They're fun but not what we're all about here.
I'm going to make it a point to try and fix 'em tomorrow evening when I come in from splitting wood......bear with me guys. I apologize for taking so long, but I've been busy (I know, excuses excuses).........
I KNEW IT !!. Bill Gates lives in Maine now and goes by SmokeyTheBear as a cover. Insert broken smiley grin here !!
EDIT: LOL !! Yeah, been there for years and never deleted. Its a reminder of where not to go. Time for some spring cleaning Also some thought on the issues we might be having coming from somewhere..................
