    I'd trade the 10in with a thick crust on top, for 30in of fluffy snow. Just spent the morning chiseling a path through the crust, then following it with the snowblower. Like a ship following an icebreaker. Time for a shower, adult beverage and lunch, followed by a nap. Wood stove keeping the place toasty.

    Agreed. We had a few hours of rain above freezing at the tail end, then 20's overnight. Everything froze with a thick 2" crust of ice on top.
