Y'all can have it! No, but seriously fellow hoarders, glad there's been a lot of prep work put in by ya's, ya just never know what else can happen- so stay safe FHC brothers and sisters! I know y'all will be warm, at least!
Here in western NY along the shores of Ontario were suposed to get 16" when all is said & done. Locked and loaded (the stove) - ready and waiting
Mr. Ganoosh, That little splitter is the coolest little thing. Never seen one that small or in a house. What is that? M2
I will testify having a Shelter Logic 20' pole canopy is hella inconvenient in this stuff. They don't hold much weight before failing so regular sweeping is needed. I cleared it before bed @about 12-1230 & set an alarm. Here we are 5 am and I can rest easy again, i think. Weather guy said up to 3" per hour between 2-8am. Ughhhh. Pics of the shelter on the next shift. Here's a current one.
Something like that would have me lose more sleep than I already do, also! Keep an eye on it, for sure!
I'm just about out of seasoned wood, I wasn't able to make it to my score of two year bucked up maple that is quite dry because mom called and told me that I need to go visit my grandfather before the storm hits as he is fading fast. So the wood is being saved for in case of power failure tonight. Hopefully TSC is open this morning, I'll pick up a few more eco bricks for standby too. Everything else is ready, most of it happened late last night in the dark though!
It's a little 5 ton electric. The brand is pow r kraft. It usually sits low but I got the stand for it. I get free 2 by 4s at work and then chop those down to about a foot long and split them up with this for kindling. I also use it to fine tune splits to get the stove full. The stove is in the den so it's not bad having the splitter there. If my stove was in the living room I wouldn't have the splitter there. People call the den my man cave but in reality the entire house is my man cave. Lol. Eventually I'll find the perfect woman for me and she can have a room... Maybe.
It's been a dud here. Forecast was anywhere from 6-18" but it's been all rain and very windy so far. I'm not complaining lol.
My corner of Vermont is calling for anywhere between 12" and 30", depending on who ya listen to. Judging from past experience, the "banana belt" here is gonna get 3-5" and skip town.
I know we got at least a foot. Wind is starting to pick up, weather guy says 17-20 mph right now. Time for me to go out and fire up the blower.
