Like right now- "Beer:30!" As that Brit fella suggested, you gonna look into makin your own lump charcoal lukem? I posted a link to a "TLUD" style charcoal maker a while back... Can't remember where...
I have 2 metal 5 gallon buckets that I fill then wire shut like a clamshell. Drop that in a 55 gallon drum and build a fire. 3 hours later you have charcoal.
I was sitting around my washing machine tub fire pit last night and decided to try using it for the heat source the next time. It burns crazy hot and should do a good tub.
I recently grabbed a stainless steel wash machine tub that was whispering to me at the local collection center-got the all clear from the attendant- planning on converting it to a fire pit soon! Can you show a pic of your FP, lukem?
Well the time has arrived...kinda. Building one for my FIL. Pad is poured...door is fabricated and bricks are being laid. I figured I'd see his first and then improve on mine. Pics in a few days days I hope.
Project still underway. Got the last couple courses of brick laid last night. I'm a bad brick layer. I'm a real bad brick layer in the dark. Door is installed. Got some 1/8" stainless rod to make the 4 20"x36" cooking grates out of....made a jig to hold everything in place for welding. My BIL is going to handle that part. Just need to form and pour a roof now. Sorry for the lack of pictures, but I've been working on this mostly in the evenings with bad lighting and/or dirty hands. I promise to post some finished product pics.
