Did you try running it outside the stove using a temp power hookup (an old lamp cord works great....properly insulated, of course)? Maybe it's out of balance?

You are not likely to get any help from FASCO OEM special in all probability and they are likely prohibited from crossing it to one of their own even though they made it.

You might get better information and more help from Eric at kinsman-stoves http://firewoodhoardersclub.com/forums/index.php?members/kinsman-stoves.236/

Pete I did not run it. I was tempted to but didn't out of concern I'd burn it with improper power. If its not balanced what is one to do then? It did have some rust on it, I scrapped off but I was tempted to use a light brillo to get more of it off bit my sons soccer game got in the way. Lol.
Smokey I was thinking the same but ill try it anyways. Thanks for thr reply.

Yep.... those are not oil ports. Do not drop oil in those holes. That motor has sealed bearings.

You can try to oil them, but do not attempt to do it through those holes.

The oil will need to be specifically placed on the actual bearing and spun. Via your fingers or a Patch cord (please be careful when using one, if you are not comfortable with doing Elec work? Then do not use the patch cord)

Hey all, It looks like i will have to order the fan anyway. the vibrations has not let up eventhough I took the thing apart. I ordered the silicone sheet to wrap around the motor using clamps but due to unexpected surgery I havent had a chance to do it. I will try to do it this weekend if i feel better if not i will order the motor soon. Its getting colder out.

Thanks everyone. I actually feel much better and while my wife, the nurse, stepped out to run some errands I misbehaved and took the thing apart. I used a 1 inch strip of silicone sheet. Boys and Girls it works like a charm. I dont remember this stove being this quiet. I guess the noise got louder incrementally throughout the years and I didnt notice it. Its magic. I guess it was either unbalanced and this did the trick or the rubber holds that motor cover in place and minimizes the vibration. Whatever it is, its working.

Slvblkk, I saw a YouTube video and thought Id give it a shot. Thus far its quiet as a church mouse and its been running for over 2 hours. Ive been checking the temp on the clamp and rubber and it seems to be pretty constant. Cold to the touch.

Ordered the fan and gasket today, should be getting it Friday or Saturday. apparently 10 years is the life-cycle for stove fans.

I'd say you did well considering most folks forget to oil them if they should be and more than a couple have been known to have their oil ports pointing downward when installed.

got the fan today, was all set to swap it out and Ill be monkeys uncle if the darn connectors dont fit. on the old fan the electric connectors were both female, on this new fan the connectors are both males. What the heck. I will head on over to home depot tomorrow and see if i can buy the right size female connector and change it on the new fan. I guess Ill need a crimping tool too. darn it.

Might be better off going to a place like Grainger. Get a small crimp connector set that includes the crimping tool....very handy to have around the house & car.

Went to HD today and bought a kit as Imacman suggested. it comes with multiple connectors and crimping tool. Thanks Pete. Stove works great. very quiet, new fan works great, and took advantage that all the panels were off to really clean it up. Got in there with the vacuum and cleaned her up real nice. Just in time, we are supposed to be getting some weather in the next day or so.
