The original air filter was a piece of foam and the oiler pump was replaced with a higher output pump. MM doesn't fool around that's for sure!

I can post a pic of the old filter setup later tonight. I don't see them very much, the vast majority of these saws have the new filter setup.

And here is our finished product. Sorry no vid of this one guys but I can assure you this thing is a runner! Ray, you're gonna fall in love with her all over again.

I always liked the straight-lines of the early 021/023/025.

Here's a vid of the last MS250 I did. Same engine, same muffler mod except that Rays saw here has the screen in place and no grinding on the deflector. Look for info on the muffler mod in a separate thread later this evening.

Rays saw runs every bit as good as that one. :saw::saw::saw:

Looks awesome Brian! I have always liked that saw.. Thank you! Question, should I give full throttle to start the saw as I have been doing or does it start without pressing the trigger? Not a bad looking saw for one that's 20+ years old :)

No need to hold the trigger. She starts as advertised now.

LOL can't remember the last time it worked that way! It'll be great to have a working oiler as that was a real PIA! Looking forward to trying it out! Were there any surprises working on the saw?

Other than how good of shape she was in after 20+ years of service? Nah. These saws are tough and hold up to all kinds of abuse. If you don't melt them by leaving the brake on or neglect the maintenance then they tend to last.

    Very cool thread!

I've got a stock MS250 that's about 5 years old. I now run an 18" bar on it and it works very well. It will bog here and there in the big stuff, but for my home owner use, the 18" setup works great. I run a non safety chain and sharpen it often by hand.

Looking forward to your review on your saw when you get it back!! :dex: It's as good as new and starts as it should. You may need to read the manual to learn how to run it!! ;) lol Congrats to both parties involved. Both great people.. :)
