will711 donated it (we did a pellet swap) to me but the Lowes around here carry it.....I just didn't grab any this season.
I agree 100%, it seems like the fire simply isn't getting sufficient combustion air, but not sure what I can do about it, the stove doesn't have an adjustment for this. Also worth noting, this is the only pellet I can remember this happening with. Still convinced I got a "bad batch".
I would have to say you got a bad batch because I'm loving mine and we basically have the same stove. What is the number (date?) printed in the upper left hand corner of your bag? Mine says 8-14.
I just checked and my bags say 08-14 as well. Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but I believe the date stamps on the bags are an indication of when the bags were produced. It's like a lot / batch number for the bags themselves, and doesn't necessarily indicate when the pellets were loaded into the bags or shipped. All we can tell is the pellets were put into the bags sometime after the date on the bag; could be weeks, months, or years later. In this case since it's 08-14, I think it's safe to assume both our purchases came from a pellet supply in a similar timeframe, after all the bags were only produced ~4 months ago.
