That's a very good point. I was thinking I'll use this as an opportunity for a science experiment with my son and maybe wrap the trunk of one comparable tree with aluminum foil for several feet up and see what comes of it. Had rain the past couple days that turned to snow late last night and woke to a winter wonderland this morning with snow covering every branch of every tree and bush. Interesting observations going on already.
