Well I started my motor for the first time since last June, over the weekend. Wow I’m slacking!
We Have a cottage the last week of July so that will probably be the maiden voyage. It’s been too hot lately anyway, I don’t even want to go outside!

When you go to start up the engine, just jump in the lake. That helps with this heat wave.

I see today that Lake Erie is coming up on once in a life time record water temps. We sure need some rain and a break from this heat! It’s looking like tomorrow and Friday are going to be the worst yet.

You look dry. Didn't feel the need to jump in when you launched?

Wasn’t to hot yesterday surprisingly after the week of 90’s. Although the foot of rain Saturday really took care of a lot of that. I do know the water surface temp was around 80 yesterday though.

We took the boat out to Carry Falls Reservoir today, our temps this morning started out at 57 with a high of 86 today. It was a perfect day for boating today, three other boats were there today.

Not real far which is nice and there is plenty of water. They don't have any docks and the launch is steep so make sure your brakes are good, I lost them on the old green GMC when I was backing down with the boat over 12 years ago, I used the emergency brake which was still working, that saved my arse.

It’s nice not having to travel too far. I’m 30 minutes to water no matter which direction I go , which I guess isn’t to bad.
As for failing brakes on the ramp..... did someone say clean underwear isle 6!!!!!o_O

Ton of small perch, couple monster pumpkin seed sunfish, 2 small crappie and two bass to round out the first day. It was almost 100 today so hopefully a little more water time tomorrow and I can search for the big bass!

Could do which, Tuna fish offshore? OR eat Sushi? Either way, right now the Tuna are ONLY 35 miles offshore, which is a super short run for us on Long Island. We usually have to run to the canyons 80 or 90 miles to get tuna, but lately they have been only 30 to 40 miles off which is really nice. Not a bad run at all! You can do it!! ;)

If your talking about eating fresh sushi, are you kidding me??? That Bluefin Toro (the light colored tuna meat on my plate, toro sashimi) just MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH! It’s un-believably good, my mouth is watering just writing about it. It’s the fatty meat from the belly area of the tuna, man is it good.
