Was hoping there was a 50cc bluemax of the redmax 5000 I had. That was a sweet saw.

I really like the 38cc myself. I have the 45Cc but it just doesnt have the same umph it seem? The 38 is one of my go to grab saws around the yard or one I bring to but branches and tops up.

I have a 52cc, China clone but not a quake. Runs real good, no muffler mods or motor work done. Just a proper tune and sharp chain. It won our little FHC Chinese saw races.

I still have my 38 and 41cc quakes. I like the 41cc the best as its not quite as anemic as the 38cc. Both of mine are bone stock still.

That 45 cc will respond to gutting and adding a second outlet to the muffler. But the intake and exhaust are super tiny. Widen them, delete the gasket and it will be a totally different animal. If I did another one I'd prolly raise the exhaust a good bit after the gasket delete as my first one pulled like a freight train but didn't want to tune much past 12K IIRC. Compression was over 200psi too.

Unless my gauge was busted I never had super high compression. I put the aftermarket dual port that Dex bought as well on my 45. I think I may make a report or add another port to it. It has a cool poping sound with the DP now. And actually way more power than it did factory

Man.....start'n to wish I got into the quake madness when they were super cheap, at that time I had my hands full doing modds on many of my husky saws and thinking this quake thing would be a quickly passing fad.......

    Yep. Fake stihl
Fake husky. Fancy colors etc. All take some parts like 45-60cc and parts are cheap

Yep if there is a red max that size most parts change. I pulled the cat muffler off the 45 and put a non cat off a red Max on it.

The parts are available as chinese chainsaw parts. On ebay. Can get pistons, cyls, sprockets bearings, clutch covers, carbs, . But at the price I paid too many parts it becomes a wash. If I needed a cylinder it would become a parts saw at that point. The earthquake takes normal bar mounts like husky and poulan based on model..not some chink special size

There is a guy on CRS that has a 72cc version. Site is down though.
Right now the server is getting replaced and the drivers are pulled. So it might be 3-5 days.

I dont know if I would fork out the dough for one that big. I would think you could get a decent saw for that price !!

One dealer I got parts from had one of those 090 or like 076 copies that you see around. They were trying to sell me. It wasnt on ebay though. You do see the chinese copies of those old school stihl on ebay every now n then.

That's exactly what I bought and stayed the thread with. Really looking forward to dicking with it. I see it as a disposable tool to learn to tune 2 stroke carbs.
