Thanks for the comments. Cherry does fit, only about the second time I got some. Already in the totes so may end up as just firewood for now.
We get drop-offs from time to time, but time gets away from a person. Started on a pile that's been sitting around a few years. A large white oak is a blow down from a storm a few years ago as well. This is all out at my best friend's (firewood partner) place where we have years worth of trees that came down from different storms. It will take years to get through it all.
Went out again yesterday before the rain came in for a few hours. One more session should finish the first pile. Some of the maple is about gone, but we still have customers that want bon-fire wood and love to have it. The other pile is much newer and should be in gooder condition. The white oak is huge and going to take a lot of work so may wait while we work on other wood around his place. He's been splitting during the week and placing it in our new storage totes that I have him converted to using. Currently sitting on around 120 or so totes. When he sells a load most customers just have him load a tote and bring it back after unloading at their place.
Marketplace - Stihl Chainsaws, Ms360PRO, Ms260 PRO, Ms200 Rearhandle And Ms192tc. | Facebook+ Beautiful day out. Going to be heading out shortly to meet up with tree fairy to grab some more silver maple. Pictures will be coming later.
Maybe we can convert Sandhillbilly to Stihl. Those are some nice saws. He's not too far off on the 360 & 192. Ive seen one 200 rear handle and the guy wanted stupid money too. I know the top handles bring a decent buck even well used.
Got 2 loads in my truck and 1 in Lefty's 16' trailer. Left half the trunk due to rot. Plenty of rot in the stuff we took, but should be able to get enough splits to make it worth the trip. Maybe next score will be better.
Not bad Kevin, just not as good as a couple weeks ago, same tree company. Told him to stop giving all the really good wood to Edwin (Wood Doctor) on OPE. Kind of kidding.
Finished filling a stacked tote of walnut and went on to cut, split and fill 6 more totes today. Walnut, elm and maple is what we worked with. Lefty wanted them thrown in as he charges a little less for those. Emptied the pickup from yesterday and called it a day. On the way home I got a call from Edwin (Wood Doctor on OPE) and found out he was involved in a traffic accident while he had a load of wood on his truck. He will be okay, but said the truck is totaled. Plan to try and meet up with him tomorrow to go to the impound yard and get everything out of the truck. Bad day for him and really sets him back as he fractured his sternum, sorry if spelling is off.
A few pictures of Edwin's truck and load. Damage was from him taking the ditch to miss the other vehicle. Gives some ideas the damage a load can cause. Stay safe out there.
