I would hope you get the weekend off! Great that the temps stayed above freezing for your drive home.
As others have already mentioned, relieved that you are safe and sound. Now, get ready for the next storm. It hits here this evening. Will you see some of it or will it pass by?
Did a little work out at my best friend/firewood partner's place today. No splitting but cleaned up some stuff that was split in the past. You will notice the nice stacks of unsplit rounds. Those belong to wood Doctor (Edwin) from OPE. Lefty is giving him some space to continue his business after a thief wiped him out last fall. He is a hoarding master.
You are so right. Last fall on my first outing with Edwin we loaded his truck as full as possible and I got the rest, a strong half to a light 3/4 cord. Lefty has a tree fairy that will dump when he is in the area and at least one load was MB. We do have a bit of wood and I hope to get a few more pictures today.
Like a lot of us, not me, he spends his time with a firewood business. Last year some low-lives went in and stole all his wood, splitter along with another splitter that was out there. He is now setting up shop at Lefty's place using my splitter. Split this load for him today. Funny we were just finishing up when a couple stopped by. He had a tree service, winding down, and wanted to dump around 5-6 cords of oak at Lefty's place. I will take pictures once he brings it out.
A yellow wing ... perty! We rode a blue one and a black one, many years ago. Bet ya need shades to look at it in the sun... ...
He has said many times that it should be divided, but I know how much work goes in to getting it and he is very careful about his lengths so I see his wood as just that, his wood. Plus gives us a chance to right the wrong that was committed to him. Great guy and he is helping to get some of my saws back to full speed. And, more than anything, he is motivating me to get some our wood caught up instead of rotting in the field.
Yet another example of the FHC family's attitude of being a good neighbor/friend! Well said/done Stephiedoll .
Another nice weekend. Tree fairy had stopped by a few weeks ago and said he had about 5 cords in is yard to get rid of and asked Lefty if he wanted it. Don't need to ask twice. This is load 1 from his yard.
