It definitely is in the white oak family.

Haven't decided yet if I will keep it all for my private use or throw some in the sell totes for next season. There is one trunk that will produce close to 2+ cords by itself, but a ton of work as I think it's 5' +- diameter, need to measure it next time I go out.
Feeling good getting out in the woods and working on all this wood that we've been putting off for years and even nice that some of the maple that I thought would be trash is looking very good yet.

Keep it, keep it. Three year plan! :stacker: Is oak a rarity for you?

Not so much oak, but white oak is a little harder to come by but I could come up with a few cords of it out at Lefty's (Bunny's). Because of the dry time plus locust I don't go after it very hard. This I will keep and was able to get away from work for a couple of hours and split some. 20231107_161203.jpg

Thought I would give an update on my progress for the house. Have 10 totes of premium, 4-totes hedge, 2-totes honey locust, 1-tote of white oak, 1-tote mulberry, and 2-totes mixed. This is all on the east property line that is raised by railroad ties. 7-totes by the chain-link fence are mixed that I am working on this winter. Did not get a picture of the wood in the driveway that's on-deck if snow gets bad. Not bad considering that I had less than a tote here at the house at the end of last season. 20240101_155856.jpg 20240101_155908.jpg 20240101_155921.jpg 20240101_155928.jpg 20240101_155941.jpg

Nicely done maam! Really packed them in there tight. Good use of limited space. I know all too well about that.

Thanks kids. Still have plenty of work to get done to consider myself caught up. Neighbor who used to use my wood before his wife passed informed me that he is getting a new stove will be needing wood again starting next season. So lucky me has more work to get done.
    Life is good.
