As in an unorganized mess, then yes it is. Hopefully it will improve when it gets cooler out, wishful thinking.
Late last night I saw an ad on FMP and it was obvious what type of wood it was. Ad was 11 hours old so not hopeful to get it, but he did reply that it was available and even held it for me as I was the first responder. Got there and things I like; A: Working in 77f instead of 90+. B: 2.2 miles away. C: Was able to back right up to it. D: He kept loading while I did the flush cut on the trunk. E: MULBERRY! He is going to keep my number as he has other mulberry and possible a large HL he wants to remove. View attachment 390968
Got it unloaded this afternoon, 94 crappy degrees out, but at least a breeze. Most is cut short, like 12" and I cut the rest to length.
WOOHOO! We know what award you get for today! Ill take the award every day for a score of mulberry. Great that you made a connection too! Always nice to have those when being a wood hoarder!
I'm pretty sure he will let me cut them in the future. Could be great and sorry Brad, I didn't get a picture of the HL tree, but it has some nice BTU's in it.
I gots all kinds of Mulberries & Honey Locust that need removed that you can have if this deal falls thru & you get bored and need something to do… l may even know where some Black Locust is… Of coarse their is always plenty of Osage that needs cut.
Thanks everyone and thank you JimBear . I know you will be happy to supply me with a huge variety of quality wood. I had tons of mulberry but burned most of it last winter. With this score I may have 2/3 cords of it for a couple years down the road. I still need to start getting focused on wood out at Bunny's place. We have wood from silver maple to white oak just laying there waiting on me to get to it and would be a better use of my time than scrounging. I hope to get a lot more done once it cools down some.
Do you prefer the smells from mulberry when you burn it? I get an incense type smell, not in a bad way though.
You got plenty of quality hardwoods around you. You are just to picky about split quality and dry time
Truth I should have taken some pictures yesterday. I am not the only one working them, but looking better and quite a few are dying, but probable need hit again. Should be out next weekend so will try to remember. Thanks for the help choosing a sprayer and herbicide to use. They want me to concentrate on the firewood as her income has taken a huge hit and she needs the money.
