Haven't had the tank out in a long time. Packed some trails for Giz. Love this deep soft stuff. It steers much easier in 4x4...

I now remember the way it used to be put. What grows in the winter, dies in the summer and grows with its roots upward?

    Here's a riddle:

What's faster than a loader, neater than a plow, and much more fun than either?

Stinny that Deere needs a snowblower on the front of it!

This? I like the rear for shorter driveways as I can still stack some banks with the loader.

In this last big dump, it would have been the right gear for sure. I sure don't complain tho, as I can do things (a lot slower) that I couldn't do with a blower. The entryway to this place has to be bucketed out. A blower would be shootin' at a window or a wall. Have had 4 over the years, 3 walk behinds and one on a Snapper tractor. All worked OK in nice dry snow. I decided in 2002 I was gonna bite the bullet and buy the JD with a bucket so I could remove any kind of snow (and lots of other stuff), no matter what... including solid frozen mounds of snow. Funny you should mention a blower on the front of the JD tho. Look way off behind the truck. That's our neighbor across the road with a newer JD tractor, same size, with a blower on it. He was havin' a ball in this last storm. Real heavy sticky snow, not so much. He machine guns his trees with rocks a lot too... ;)

The only real soutuon is to have all the toys then?

Sounds (literally) like your neighbor needs to set his skid shoes to leave the gravel where is belongs eh? The snowblower rig for his and your tractors is a beast. Setup properly it should cast snow back over your shoulder almost. I get how it wouldn't work in a real tight area tho. I gotta watch where I be chuckin' with my rig too as I have a few spots that are pretty tight. They also shouldn't be useless in sloppy snow. They won't throw 100' but they shouldn't be struggling either.

No blizzard here, but rather than starting a new thread, thought I'd throw on snow pics. We currently have roughly a foot or so laying around. Up to another foot possibly soon.

Man I did not think you were that far from me but you got a lot more snow than I do. Half the yards bare and maybe 2 inches left in most spots.

Yea probably about right. Doesn't seem like it's that far but it is a big state, and a little distance goes a long way with weather.

I think the rain/sleet/snow line will move more northern. Im not interested in rain. It will pool up everywhere and freeze. The snow will soak it up like a sponge and add a lot of weight to the roof. Not fun!

I drive about an hour one way to work so 2.5 to 3 is still "not that far to me either".
