The firebox measures from brick to brick, 18" deep, 19" wide and about 13" deep from the floor to the cat housing. Of course you can get a little more room up above the bricks.

Like my buddy says... No material is strong enough to withstand a weak mind. I know some folks that could break an anvil with a rubber hammer it seems!

Hi, I was wondering how deep is it from the front of the door to the bottom of the stove on the inside? We have an older (15) year old princes classic and it is 6" inside from the door down. I like the look of this stove but wondering if it will perform like the old style.

    Welcome to fhc Debbie .

It's 3" instead of 6". Reports are it'll burn pretty much like the current princess but with a little cleaner glass.

Just a word to the wise, since this post is a couple years old and some of the members on it aren't active any longer, you might have better luck getting an answer to your question with a fresh thread/ introductory post :)

I have an ash pan on my stove (not a blaze king) and I hate it. It just makes a huge mess when I pull it out to empty it so I don't use it. But I'm glad you like your ash pan!! i like that your ash pan has a nice handle on it. I'll have to add that to my "pro" list on why to buy a Blaze King.

I've used my ash pan once since 2009 but that plug does seal well.

I' ve actually used mine for the three times I've removed ash this year. Never really used it but a time or two before. I'm not in love with it but it works.
