Neither. I’ve only sold one cord of BL because I was out of regular wood and a new customer wanted another cord to go with her first two. I’ll have to see if she was sold on it this year. I’m considering this firewood as personal use much like your WO. Same for the lumber. I have a section of deck on my house made of PT. It’s 33 years old now. The question is will I replace it and will I go the extra step of using BL or just buy PT. In my youth I’d be all over trading lots of labor to save a few bucks. Now not so much.
How long do you need the deck boards to be? Wonder how much it would be to plane and shape BL into decking. Im with you on the money saver part, but in this case I'd go with the PT.

Im certainly leaning that way. 90% there. Just hard to get over that swamp Yankee thriftiness and BL decking would be cool but I’m not willing to pay extra for it at this point in the game.
