Another half cord load today from the "manic Monday" score. Brings the total to close to six cords. Five weeks to go. IMG_2793.JPG IMG_2794.JPG

Stacked the splits from the last cut. Rack emptied so room was made for it. Room for another two face cord. The stacks are 6'x16' triple row so three cords when full. IMG_2969.JPG IMG_2970.JPG

Actually not really. I have a running list of locations i could hit with blow overs and/or clean up wood. I discovered more at the current cut but would be a pita to get out. All barkless clean up wood.

Had the PU loaded late yesterday. Rather than unload last night i split it right off the truck and stacked as i went. Before IMG_2978.JPG IMG_2979.JPG
After. IMG_2980.JPG IMG_2982.JPG Next barkless cut will top it off. Some had tight bark and will get stacked separate. IMG_2981.JPG

Hit an old honey hole of BL where ive been scrounging storm clean up wood and blowovers. Lots of smalls at first then some bigger chunks. Lots buried under leaves. About a half cord Split it all at storage and topped off the three cord stack there. Battery died on camera so no finished stack pics. May cut one more load for my other BL location. IMG_3070.JPG IMG_3071.JPG IMG_3074.JPG IMG_3075.JPG IMG_3076.JPG Still some decent wood at that honey hole. Gotta save some for the 20
    23-24 harvest. IMG_3073.JPG IMG_3072.JPG
With last weeks and todays cuts it brings the tally to seven cords. Thinking at least one more load.

The storms of August 2020 put a lot on the ground in my area. I have at least a dozen other spots where i can scrounge it...BUT work involved. Todays cut was like that. Excavating and schlepping wood out.
I was surprised the 201 and 400 chains held up under todays cut. The chain on the 261 has less than 25% meat left on the teeth. I opted not to use it for that reason. Just bought some new 16" chains for it and didnt wanna use a virgin chain for such.

Sometimes on a really dull chain the hands get sore while sharpening.

Nice BL loads. Bagged two truck loads of Black Cherry today. Cherry is very easy on saws and my back.

Nice stuff there. What length do you normally cut?
