My wife is going to a craft fair on Friday so I might head down to the Lowes and see what theyve got. We went there last year and it wasnt bad then Ill head back home and split wood for the rest of the day. I dont get into the craziness of it all I cant believe how some people act just to get a "deal". The other day when the new playstation or xbox I dont know which one it was came out I was at the walmart getting my stuff out of layaway and there was a lady asking the manager when they were going to start selling them and where the line would start. The manager said the line starts here at 10pm the lady said ok Ill wait right here it was 1pm she waited for 9hrs just to get a game system.
Insane! Now, the question is, if a company had black friday specials of 3 cords of 4 year css oak for a total of $100 bucks, hmmm
You had to go there and make me rethink everything about black Friday. At this point in my burning adventure I would definitely go for a deal like that but if I was three or more years ahead like I should be I would probably pass on it unless I had nothing better to do.

16 separate arrests between the two Walmart's by us today. I don't understand how someone can live with themselves knowing they punched another person to get something....... I went and got brew supplies today and only because the brew supply store doesn't participate in the Black Friday madness.
Ya know, I actually tried to get some work done today, and it took me twice as long to get anywhere. That means I spent more today just getting there than on any other day of the year. Note to self: At home services on Black Friday..... F- That. And one more jab: This whole Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday deal just proves how gullible we all are as American consumers. Any excuse to party right?
I went out, no fighting crowds. Got what I went for. All items they normally sell. I saved overall about 40%. I was out about two and a half hours and that included a stop at McDonalds. Was also able to get a bunch of those high priced pet treats for 50% off. Those are the healththy ones made in the US. without byproducts. Parking was no different than any other Friday. Maine has Blue laws that don't allow for any large stores to be open on Thanksgiving, Christmas or Easter. (Except for LL Bean) There were shoppers out at midnight who had waited several hours. The only disruption were from some parasitic profane protesters at Walmart who were non employees agitating for better wages and trying to persuade employees to unionize.
So it is Saturday now, we went out at 6 am. to a store and got 60% off. Saved $120. Off the regular price. There were like 6 shoppers in this huge store. The help was very friendly. They gave out store cash. We got $30 to use on another purchase. These were things we intended to buy for gifts so saving a bit just for going early was well worth it to me.
The stores are spreading sales out to keep up the momentum. Sometimes these sales are for specific times. The one we went to was from 6 am to 1 pm. Black Friday is often the deepest cut, but they have sales nearly as good on some other days. There is no need to stand in outrageous lines, or tolerate rude behavior. Also, there are online sales so you don't even need to put you pants on to go shopping!
All of our shopping is done. We buy gifts through out the year avoiding the mess of crazy people and it is much better on our budget if spend a little here and a little there over time.
Thats what weve started doing and its really nice cause now when all the craziness is happening we dont have to go out in it. Also with all the sales that are happening we can just buy things for ourselves
I went to Duhams at 8 am in Friday walked in and picked up the trail cam I wanted, checked out and drove home. Total time in the store maybe 10 minutes. Easiest 150 bucks I ever saved.
