01D2F5D1-1D5D-4B76-B185-D619CEE4D7EB.jpeg Good consolation prize today. I was told by a big wig at my local dump that I could no longer take logs out for firewood. Liability reasons.
I got to talking to a guy there who said he had some wood at his place from a tree he just cut down and that it would help him out for me to come get it. A little while later, I left his place with a full PU load of black birch- by far my favorite firewood! I was also able to get a full load from the dump before I was told to knock it off. It was a victory of a day and I’ll have to find other sources of firewood.

Sorry you lost dump privileges. But there is wood out there, waiting for you, without the dump. My dump dried up, but between Craigslist, friends, and neighborhood cutting, I got more than ever this summer. You can do it! Go get 'em!

Thats awesome Steve.:yes:. You mustve been on cloud 9! I know how much you like birch. Too bad about the dump though. We'll have to find a score between us and go cutting again!

Thanks brad, I wasn’t too bummed about the dump. I think with all the EAB around, wood will be everywhere. That small to medium size ash in my backyard is going come down in the next month or so and then in the stacks it goes.
